Section 2. SCHEME OF LABORATORY AND INSTRUMENTAL EXAMINATION OF THE PATIENT

Laboratory and instrumental examinations of the patient are specific for every patient and are determined by taking into account the diagnosis of the patient. Modern standards of case management are taken as the basis.

All patients, regardless of their supposed diagnosis, have to undergo the following examinations:

1) complete blood count (CBC);

2) urinalysis (urine test);

3) glucose blood test (hypertensive patients, obese, for all the patients over 40);

4) measurement of BP;

5) thermometry;

6) ECG;

7) chest X-ray (radiology of thoracic organs);

8) test for helminthes;

9) Blood tests for detection of HIV, hepatitis viruses, syphilis.

VII. LABORATORY AND INSTRUMENTAL EXAMINATIONS FOR THE INTERNAL ORGANS DISEASES

1. RESPIRATORY SYSTEM DISEASES

1. Sputum analysis (general, TB micobactera, atypical cells).

2. Bacteriological examination of sputum (detection of the germ, determination of revealed germ sensitivity to antibiotics).

3. Examination of pleural fluid.

4. Spirography, peakflowmetry.

5. Radiology and chest X-ray examination.

6. Bronchoscopy and bronchography.

7. Body-section radiography.

8. CT scan of the thoracic organs.

9. Tuberculin (Mantoux' test).

10. Test of the arterial blood gases.

11. Pulse oximetry (for determination of hemoglobin oxygen saturation in arterial blood).

12. ECG.

13. Echo CG.

14. Lungs isotope scanning and angiopulmonography when suspecting pulmonary embolism (PE).

15. Pulmonary biopsy (for the diagnosis of fibrosing alveolitis)

2. RHEUMATIC FEVER. HEART DEFECTS.

DIFFUSE CONNECTIVE TISSUE DISEASES

Rheumatic fever (acute rheumatic fever and chronic rheumatic heart disease). Heart defects. Infectious endocarditis. Diffuse connective tissue diseases (systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis, dermatomyositis, periarteritis nodosa). Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, amyloidosis.
